Red-bellied Woodpecker

Conor’s class has been studying the flora and fauna of Ohio. His teacher assigned him the Red-bellied Woodpecker. A report and a shoebox diorama were to be done over Spring Break. Here are a few pictures of Conor working hard (with a little help) and the end result. We even went to Caesar's Creek to try and find some woodpeckers and maybe get a picture. We did find some trees with- what looked like to us - woodpecker holes!

Hey Conor!!
You did a really good job on your project!! I'm sure you learned a whole lot about the woodpecker and your teacher will give you a very good grade on it! I've always liked birds and like to feed them in the winter but I hardly ever see a woodpecker. Sometimes I see the little Downy Woodpecker but not the big one you did! Very nice!!

Very good job. I could have shown you woodpecker holes in my walnut tree. It was a big red-bellied "Woody". Tried to get his picture but he took off. He was really cool looking, like the ones you made, Conor.

SO COOL! I love your project. I especially like the way you did the wings! Very clever. I also like your smile in the last picture!
